Scenario: Sunburned and allergic to Aloe

I got a call from a friend the other day, looking for a way to manage the pain from a sunburn that affected his whole body. (having an allergy to aloe took this great ally out of my range of options....
His remedy....
A researched list of supplements to assist him in this specific condition, as well as:

Infusion of many herbs including comfrey, lavender, plantain, horsetail, chamomile...this, once steeped for several hours and the liquid strained into a jar, was cooled for later use as a cold compress for the affected areas.
After allowing his body to cool down from the burn a couple of days he was given a blend of organic vegetable oils and essential oils to use in a tepid bath, this method effortlessly covers the body with a thin coating of oil with no rubbing involved.
His comments....
After using the remedy on the chest and upper extremities he noticed after removing the compresses that the redness and pain had been reduced in that area and that his skin was healing, the lower part of his body, which he did not use the liquid on, was peeling and blistering and still very painful to touch.

He found this remedy very useful. His history with sunburns had him venturing to the emergency room, with a perscription for pain medication as his only solution.
He is appreciative to have found a natural remedy that works, and had herbs prepared to have on hand in case the scenario happens in the future.
